Beady Eye’s Gem Archer is making his first public statement since fracturing his skull a little more than two months ago.

The guitarist tells fans he’s “on the mend,” but adds that he’s “treading carefully” and taking each day as a “giant leap forward.”  Still, Archer says he can’t wait to grab his guitar and stand “alongside the rest of the boys” when Beady Eye returns to the stage next month.

They’re scheduled to kick off a tour of the U.K. and Ireland on November 7th in Dublin.

Archer was hospitalized on August 1st with severe head trauma after reportedly falling down a flight of stairs.  And according to “The Sun,” he also broke his leg last month while recovering from the initial accident.
