Live Event Photographer
New England Concert Reviews is seeking bright, motivated photographers who share our passionate about music. Reporting to the Chief photographer, the future photographer will be covering the show photographically for use a the primary photo content for the online magazine including concert reviews and feature stories/interviews, as well as the photo gallery’s. From time to time the photographer may be asked to write a written review of the show. You must have your own gear and equipment capable of taking low light photos. You will be responsible for editing your own photos and uploading them.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Take professional quality photos
Attend concerts and write reviews
Conduct interviews with artists (in-person, by phone or e-mail) and/or attend press conferences
Update concert calendar database
Assist with updates and maintenance of website and social media accounts
Work closely with Editors to develop new forms of content
Possesses excellent organizational skills with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, remote work environment. Position requires excellent written and verbal communications skills and the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously. Must demonstrate a positive, upbeat and enjoyable attitude. Be knowledgeable about NECR and a fan of music with knowledge of the local and national music scene a plus. The position requires a flexible schedule with the ability to work evenings and weekends. Skilled in Communications or Journalism with prior journalism experience (such as a school newspaper or internship) is preferred. In order to me considered one must provide a portfolio of work
Location: Boston area – Telecommute (*Writers with an interest in features/interviews do not have to be based in New England*)
Compensation: Unpaid. Concert tickets will be provided.
