Lamb of God bassist take’s a temporary leave of absence

Lamb of God bassist John Campbell has taken a temporary leave of absence from the band’s tour due to a family emergency.

According to “Loudwire,” Campbell’s departure forced the metal band to cancel Monday’s stop in Kent, Washington on their current co-headlining trek with Killswitch Engage, Testament, and Huntress.

But Lamb of God was back in action on Tuesday with Fear Factory’s Matt DeVries filling in on bass.  DeVries will only be with the band through Saturday, and it’s unclear whether Campbell will be able to return at that point or Lamb of God will have to turn to a new backup.

They’re scheduled to be on the road through the end of November.
