My Chemical Romance have stunned fans by announcing a surprise split. The alternative rockers are going their separate ways after 12 years together. After topping the charts with the classic ‘Welcome To The Black Parade’ in 2006 they became an alternative staple but today an emotional statement brought the journey to an end.
The statement said ‘it has come time for it to end’.’Being in this band for the past 12 years has been a true blessing.”We’ve gotten to go places we never knew we would. We’ve been able to see and experience things we never imagined possible. We’ve shared the stage with people we admire, people we look up to, and best of all, our friends. And now, like all great things, it has come time for it to end.”Thanks for all of your support, and for being part of the adventure.”
My Chemical Romance formed in New Jersey in 2001.The band consisted of lead vocalist Gerard Way, guitarists Ray Toro and Frank Iero, and bassist Mikey Way. Shortly after forming, the band signed to Eyeball Records and released their debut album I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love in 2002.They signed with Reprise Records the next year and released their major label debut Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge in 2004; the album was a commercial success, and was awarded platinum status a little over a year later. The band eclipsed their previous success with their 2006 concept album, The Black Parade, which gained generally favorable reviews among music critics.Their fourth studio album, Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, was released on November 22, 2010, to positive reviews.
We are sad about the news but we are sure good things will come for the band members and wish them all well!
