Fleetwood Mac surprised everybody on Saturday night at a concert when Lindsey Buckingham told the crowd that a new Fleetwood Mac E.P. would be released ‘in a few days’.
Buckingham said “One of the things we thought would be a good idea before we hit the road would be to go into the studio and cut some new material. So last year we did that. It’s the best stuff we’ve done in a long time and in a few days we’re going to drop an EP of new stuff.” The group then launched into the mid-tempo Sad Angel.
It has been known that the group spent time in the studio but there was no confirmation whether they had completed an album or when/if it would be released. This announcement makes it look like some time was spent recording but only four to six songs came out of the fruits of their labor.
