The City of Lowell, MA has declared October 25 as “Sammy Hagar Day” in appreciation for the Hagar Family Foundation contribution to the local food bank, The Merrimack Valley Food Bank.
The Merrimack Valley Food Bank will receive a gift from the Hagar Family Foundation as part of the Four Decades of Rock tour, which plays the Tsongas Center in Lowell on the 25th.
Sammy is donating to local food banks in each U.S. city he visits and in celebration of National Food Day, there will be a gift of $5,000 presented to the Merrimack Valley Food Bank.

As a child Sammy knew what it was to feel hunger and is committed to preventing others from experiencing it by donating to food relief agencies like the Merrimack Valley Food Bank that has provided food for 60,000 individuals monthly through a network of food pantries in 32 communities in the region since 1991
