A 407ft in diameter Eagles ‘Hotel California’ vinyl record has been created to be placed on top of the refurbished Forum venue in Los Angeles.
The upsized album contains 250,000 square feet of vinyl. That is roughly 5.7 acres or about 4.5 football fields in size. It weighs 25 tons, contains 15,000 LEDs and 5000 nuts and bolts and will rotate on the roof of the Forum at 17 miles per hours. The giant-size ‘Hotel California’ will be seen daily by thousands of visitors to Los Angeles as they fly into LAX. The letters on the structure are as large as the Hollywood sign.
LAX is the busiest airport in Southern California and the third busiest in the USA. More than 1700 flights take off and land daily at LAX.
Eagles will perform for the reopening of the Forum on January 15 and reside at the venue forJanuary 17, 18, 22, 24 and 25.
The ‘Hotel California’ structure will stay on top of the building throughout January and be taken down in the first week of February.
