Grammy Award-winning rock band Cage The Elephant has just released their sixth studio album, “Neon Pill,” via RCA Records. Known for their explosive creativity and dynamic performances, the Kentucky-bred six-piece band is set to embark on a 47-date North American summer tour starting June 20th.
“Neon Pill” showcases a significant evolution for the band, with lead vocalist Matthew Shultz describing it as their most authentic and self-expressive work to date. “To me, ‘Neon Pill’ is the first record where we were consistently uninfluenced, and I mean that in a positive way,” said Shultz. “We just found a uniqueness in simply existing.”
Recorded across various renowned studios, including Sonic Ranch in El Paso and Electric Lady in New York, the album was produced by John Hill. The creative process was deeply personal for the band, who faced multiple tragedies and mental health struggles during the pandemic. Despite these challenges, Cage The Elephant has alchemized their experiences into a powerful collection of twelve tracks, highlighting their resilience and growth.
In support of “Neon Pill,” Cage The Elephant will kick off their extensive tour on June 20th in Salt Lake City, with notable stops in cities like Seattle, Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York City. They will be joined by Young The Giant and Bakar on most dates, promising an unforgettable concert experience for fans across North America. The tour includes several performances in New England, with a much-anticipated show at the Xfinity Center in Mansfield, MA, on August 22nd.
The band has already given fans a taste of their new music with singles such as “Metaverse,” “Good Time,” “Out Loud,” and the title track “Neon Pill,” which recently became their 11th number-one song on Billboard’s Alternative Chart. Additionally, Cage The Elephant recently performed their new song “Rainbow” on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, further building excitement for the album.
Cage The Elephant’s journey from their humble beginnings in Bowling Green, Kentucky, to becoming one of the premier rock bands of their generation is marked by numerous accolades, including two Grammy Awards for Best Rock Album. Their music has also been featured in popular culture, including the soundtrack of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 video game and Amazon Prime’s global campaign.
As they prepare to hit the road, Cage The Elephant continues to captivate audiences with their raw energy and profound musicality. Tickets and VIP packages for the tour are available now, promising fans an opportunity to experience the band’s electrifying live performances up close.
