On November 4th, Boston’s Paradise Rock Club will host a special night of rock ‘n’ roll as legendary musician Duff McKagan takes the stage on his highly anticipated Lighthouse Tour ‘24. Known for his indelible contributions as a founding member of Guns N’ Roses and Velvet Revolver, McKagan’s latest solo project is being hailed as his most introspective and dynamic yet.
The Lighthouse Tour is in support of McKagan’s 2023 critically acclaimed solo album, Lighthouse, which blends acoustic and rock elements to reflect personal and emotional themes. Featuring singles such as “Lighthouse,” “I Saw God on 10th Street,” and “Longfeather,” the album has been praised by outlets like Rolling Stone and American Songwriter. With its mixture of folk influences and hard rock, the album offers fans a fresh perspective on McKagan’s long and varied career. Fans can expect an intimate experience as McKagan explores a more personal side of his music during this headline run—the first in five years.
Joining McKagan for the Boston show will be Lee Ving’s Range War, marking the legendary FEAR frontman’s first live performances with his country-punk outfit in over three decades. This collaboration adds a rare layer of excitement to the tour, as fans will get to witness a fusion of punk rock and outlaw country in a unique performance style.
For McKagan, this tour is also a tribute to rock legends. Ahead of the Lighthouse Tour, he released a new double-sided single, featuring a cover of David Bowie’s “Heroes” and an original track titled “True to the Death Rock N Roll Ballad.” McKagan expressed that covering Bowie’s iconic song was a natural choice, given his fascination with history and the Cold War era that inspired the original track.
Boston is just one stop on this U.S. leg of the tour, which also includes shows in New York City, Chicago, and Denver. The tour will culminate with dates on the West Coast, including special performances in Portland and Seattle, where McKagan will be joined by punk icon Joey “Sh*thead” Keithley of D.O.A. fame for rare solo acoustic sets.
Tickets for the Lighthouse Tour ’24 are available now through McKagan’s official website, with VIP packages also offered for fans seeking a deeper dive into this once-in-a-lifetime concert experience.
