Boston’s Dropkick Murphys and California’s Bad Religion, two of the most influential punk bands of their respective scenes, have announced their first-ever co-headlining U.S. tour, *Summer of Discontent*, running from July 22 to August 17 with openers The Mainliners. Tickets go on sale February 20 at http://www.dropkickmurphys.com and http://www.badreligion.com.
I’ve seen both Bad Religion and Dropkick Murphys live, and I can guarantee this will be a great show.
Dropkick Murphys, known for their anthemic Celtic punk infused with traditional folk elements, and Bad Religion, pioneers of fast-paced, politically charged punk rock with intricate harmonies, promise an electrifying tour that showcases both the raw energy of working-class rebellion and the sharp intellectual edge of socio-political critique. “We are so fired up,” said Dropkick Murphys frontman Ken Casey. “Gonna be a blast!!” Bad Religion’s Greg Graffin added, “This tour will be an event of epic proportions.”
The tour spans major cities around the country, including a New England stop at the BankNH Pavilion in Gilford, NH.
Dropkick Murphys will perform classics and tracks from their upcoming album, including the new single Sirens and new songs from their next album, which will be released via the band’s Dummy Luck Music / [PIAS] later this year.. Bad Religion will showcase their extensive catalog, from American Jesus to 21st Century (Digital Boy).
With two legendary bands on one bill, this tour is expected to sell out fast. Tickets go live February 20 at 10 a.m. via http://www.dropkickmurphys.com http://www.badreligion.com. Don’t miss this unforgettable night of punk rock energy!
