Rock legends STYX and The Kevin Cronin Band will bring their “Brotherhood of Rock” tour to the Xfinity Center on Saturday, July 19, promising a night of classic hits and full album performances that have already wowed Las Vegas audiences.

The tour follows hugely successful sold-out residencies at The Venetian Theatre earlier this year, where STYX performed their 1977 album “The Grand Illusion” in its entirety for the first time in their 50-plus-year career, while REO Speedwagon’s Kevin Cronin performed the band’s 1980 album “Hi Infidelity” in full.

Adding to the excitement, STYX released their 18th studio album, “Circling From Above,” on May 28. The 13-track album, produced by band member Will Evankovich, explores themes of technology and nature through the human experience. While physical copies are currently available at tour stops and through the band’s website, the album will hit streaming platforms on July 18.

“When you start writing an album, there’s generally something that piques your imagination, and all of a sudden, you’re a storyteller starting with the seed of a story,” explained STYX guitarist/vocalist Tommy Shaw. “A good song is like a straight road — it’ll get you to the next place.”

The new album features contributions from all seven current band members, including founding guitarist James “JY” Young, Shaw, original bassist Chuck Panozzo, drummer Todd Sucherman, keyboardist/vocalist Lawrence Gowan, Evankovich, and bassist Terry Gowan.

The tour, which kicked off May 28 in Greenville, South Carolina, also features special guest Don Felder, former lead guitarist of the Eagles. Audiences can expect to hear beloved classics including “Come Sail Away,” “Keep On Loving You,” “Fooling Yourself (The Angry Young Man),” “Take It on the Run,” and Felder’s Eagles hits like “Hotel California.”

The tour also continues the charitable tradition of Rock to the Rescue, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded by STYX and REO Speedwagon in 2001 following the September 11 attacks. The organization, now spearheaded by Tommy Shaw’s daughter Hannah, supports grassroots community organizations across the country. At each tour stop, the band partners with local nonprofits to sell $10 raffle tickets for a signed STYX guitar, with proceeds benefiting the chosen charity.

The “Brotherhood of Rock” tour represents not just a celebration of rock history, but an ongoing commitment to both creating new music and giving back to the communities that have supported these artists for over five decades.
