The history of The Eagles spans over five decades, “The History of The Eagles” tour, which came to The Comcast Center and was reminiscing the band’s single decade of true rock relevance: the 70s.
Henley perched on a guitar amp started off by saying “This is a glimpse of what it was like late in the summer of 71”. “Glenn and I were out on the road with Linda Ronstadt and told her we were going to put a band together. She suggested a guitar player named Bernie Leadon.”
The ensemble spent some time with the “Desperado” album, performing acoustic-based versions of “Doolin Dalton,” and “Tequila Sunrise” before Frey led the band to the “On the Border” album with a rendition of “Already Gone.”
This night the five Eagles were augmented by five more performers, including long-time touring partner Steuart Smith who was tasked with handling the Don Felder parts on songs like “Best of My Love,” and “Lyin’ Eyes.”
The Eagles closed with “Life in the Fast Lane,” before a double encore that featured the signature “Hotel California,” “Take It Easy,” “Rocky Mountain Way,” and “Desperado.”
