This show was a hot ticket from the get go and for good reason. The indie rock band hailing from London, England is steadily increasing their fan base around the world. Their fourth and latest album “So Long, See You Tomorrow” reached number one in the UK Albums Chart on the first week of its release.

Tonight, Bombay Bicycle Club is supported by Royal Canoe, which were nominated for Alternative Album of the Year at the Juno awards. After a particularly stunning show from Royal Canoe, Bombay Bicycle Club stormed the stage around 10pm with a fury of colored strobe lights, adorned with the loving praise of their loyal followers.

Aside from the constant and never ending strobes, the first thing that you notice as they launch into their first song of the night ‘Overdone’ is that they are much heavier in concert than they are on their recordings. There’s definitely a lot of influence leaking in from Explosions in the Sky’s live shows.

The performance continued in much the same way until ‘Eyes Off You’ was played on the piano under a single spotlight and mellowed the crowd from the intensity of the first half of the performance. Gradually front man Jack Steadman was joined by the rest of the band, again a midst a cluster of strobes.

Bombay Bicycle Club continue through the US, before their tour takes them across Europe and parts of Asia in June and then on to Lollapalooza in August.
