Brit Floyd opened their 2023 US Tour Friday night at the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom with a classic rock, laser light accented, three hour show. Exactly what you would expect for a tribute band of their caliber. Guitars were covered by Damian Darlington, Edo Scordo, and bassist Ian Cattell, all of whom sang vocals with Ian and Damian taking turns on Lap Steel to cover all the key slide guitar tones the band is known for. Arran Ahmun on drums, Ryan Saranich on saxophone, percussion, guitar, and keyboards, and Matt Riddle on keyboards, synth, and vocals. The band covered a good portion of the rock legends catalog. A trio of backup singers, Eva Avila, Genevieve Little, and Chess Galea supported the band including a fantastic rendition of The Great Gig in the Sky that got a standing ovation from the sold out crowd.

Performing Songs from The Wall, Wish You Were Here, The Division Bell, and many other albums, the show covered the favorites of any Pink Floyd fan. Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the release of the legendary, “The Dark Side of the Moon” album, of course, the band performed the title song as well as Money. The level of performance was top notch keeping the audience fully engaged for the entire three hours.

Ryan Saranich came to the front of the stage multiple times to allow the sax solos to get the focus and attention they deserved both on the Tenor and Baritone Saxophones. Edo Scordo pulled out the acoustic guitar on several occasions and showed equal mastery of this version of the instrument.

The light/laser show was incredible and perfectly fitting to the music, completing the emersion into the experience.

The band’s tour continues through New England this week and then moved on to other parts of the US.

Sounds like they will be back in the area in the Fall. If you can’t make one of the other locations, make sure to watch for any announcements of their return. Complete experience should not be missed.
