Dustin Lynch turned up the heat with his Hell of a Night tour, playing to a sold out House of Blues, along with opening acts Tyler Rich and Chris Lane. These 3 brought down the house with amazing music, energy and fun, fun, fun!
Kicking the night off right, Tyler Rich brought his country boy charm and his acoustic guitar to the stage. There was no band backing him up and he didn’t need one. With smooth sexy vocals and awesome guitar chops he entertained the crowd at the packed to the brim House of Blues. After years of playing with a variety of bands, Rich made the leap to embark on a career as a solo artist. He’s on the road to making it big time, and has played alongside artists including Sam Hunt and Cole Swindell, before joining Dustin Lynch’s Hell of a Night tour. Check out Tyler’s single, “Radio”, and my favorites, “California Grown”, and “Turn it Up”. Rich even had some fun during his set with a couple of covers, playing Justin Beiber’s, “Sorry”, Ginuwine’s , “Pony”, and Blackstreet’s, “No Digity”.
Next up Chris Lane hit the stage with maximum energy and some surprises. Backed by a band that looked more rock and roll than country, and musical style that ran the gamut of country, rock, and pop they cranked up the energy level and propelled the party into high gear. Lane’s song, “Fix” showcases his impressive vocal range. He can hit those high notes …. And it’s simply awesome! “Broken Windshield View” is a rockin’ country boy anthem. And when he sang, “Let Me Love You”…. 2 words…. Smokin’ hot! In addition to an impressive set of original songs, Lane had some fun with a killer medley of pop and rock songs which included Kiss’s, “Rock and Roll all Nite”, Katy Perry’s, “Firework”, and Miley Cyrus’s, “Wrecking Ball”.
By the time Dustin Lynch strutted out on stage the party was already in full gear, and lucky for us he was about to crank things up another notch. He kicked off his set with, “To the Sky” and followed that with rockin’ Country song after rockin’ Country song. His band didn’t miss a beat and their energy was infectious. Lynch’s songs definitely embrace modern high energy Country while still keeping true to his classic Country roots. “She Cranks My Tractor” is just one of those songs. Lynch is a dynamic performer and is as fun to watch as he is to listen to. He’s guitar skills are on point and he clearly has a great time on stage, interacting with the audience and his band mates. One particularly fun part of the show was when they invited a girl named Amy from the audience to come up on stage and join them for karaoke. Tyler Rich and Chris Lane returned to the stage to sing along. Amy got to spin a large wheel which had a bunch of song names on it, and then they all got to sing the song indicated by where the wheel stopped. A few of the songs they sang were Tim McGraw’s, “Indian Outlaw”, Destiny’s Child’s, “Say My Name”, and Beastie Boys’, “Fight for your Right”. As the night went on I was hoping to hear my Favorite Dustin Lynch song, “Cowboys and Angels”, and he did not disappoint. But the hands down best part of the night was when Lynch sang one of his biggest hits yet, “Where It’s At”. But it wasn’t just the song that was awesome, it was the fact that he sang it as he crowd surfed in an inflatable boat decked out with flashing lights…. It was without a doubt the craziest and coolest crowd surfing I have ever seen! Lynch’s final song of the night was his mega hit that shares its name with the name of his tour, “Hell of a Night”. And, just as the name of Lynch’s song and tour states, it truly was a “Hell of a Night”!
