Galleries: Screaming Females, Spowder
Screaming Females performed at Once in Somerville on July 7. Boston based, all female band, Shepherdess opened the night putting in a great performance. Next up was Spowder, a band from New Brunswick, New Jersey doing a three performance tour with Screaming Females in the New England area. Spowder’s set was energetic and fast paced including songs from their latest release, Health Palm. Songs included, Let’s Skin Ruby, Pulp, and title track Health Palm. It was an awesome performance.
Last up was Screaming Females, also from the New Brunswick NJ area, featuring guitarist and singer Marissa Paternoster. Paternoster’s skilled guitar playing and use of pedals to create sounds and effects are an integral part of the bands sound. The Screaming Females played for a solid hour, performing songs from All at Once, their latest release. Then they came back out for a few songs following significant encouragement by the audience. Paternoster and the other members of Screaming Females did not disappoint and will be continuing the tour in the US over the next couple months then will head to the UK.
