Australian Pink Floyd kicked off their show on July 2, 2023, at Lynn Auditorium in the grandest fashion. The band, led by Dave Fowler, Luc Ledy-Lepine, Ricky Howard, Jason Sawford, and Paul Bonney, took the audience on a nostalgic trip through some of Pink Floyd’s most celebrated hits.

Their setlist began with an impeccable rendition of “Money“, showcasing not only the band’s instrumental prowess but also their commitment to replicating the distinct soundscapes of the original band. Fowler and Ledy-Lepine’s guitar solos captivated the audience while Howard’s bass and Sawford’s keyboard skills helped create an authentic Pink Floyd sound. Bonney’s intricate drumming was highlighted with the unusual addition of a large, double bass drum kit.

One of the standout performances of the evening was “The Great Gig in the Sky“, which saw vocalists Chris Barnes, Lorelei McBroom, Lara Smiles, and Emily Lynn each having their moment in the spotlight. Their soaring vocals beautifully recaptured the ethereal essence of the original song.

Of course there was also a laser show, a key component of any Pink Floyd performance. Paired with the  visuals on the back screen, it added an extra layer of immersion into the Floydian universe.

The intimate venue of the Lynn Auditorium allowed for good viewing for all attendees, regardless of their seating position. The band’s stage presence, coupled with their outstanding musical abilities, kept the audience engaged and in awe throughout the night.

In all, the Australian Pink Floyd’s show at Lynn Auditorium was a great celebration of Pink Floyd’s timeless music. For any fan of Pink Floyd, seeing Australian Pink Floyd live is a treat and greatly recommended.
