Dorothy, with special guests Eddie and the Getaway, delivered a powerful dose of bluesy rock and roll to New England at the Worcester Palladium on September 7, 2025. As my first experience seeing both acts, the evening proved to be an unforgettable introduction to two incredible bands.

Eddie and the Getaway provided the perfect opening act, launching into upbeat guitar riffs and infectious melodies that immediately grabbed the crowd’s attention. Guitarist Mark Stults commanded the stage with exceptional crowd interaction and masterful jamming, particularly during an impressive Led Zeppelin medley. Drummer Phil Vincent Evans delivered solid rhythms throughout the set and surprised the audience by stepping out from behind his kit to join Mark on guitar for one memorable tune. Frontman Eddie brought consistent energy all night, his vocals and guitar work driving the performance forward with tracks like the catchy “Sleep Alone” and the country-rock fusion “Alexis Texas” that perfectly showcased the band’s versatility. Their engaging set effectively primed the audience for Dorothy’s headline performance.

Dorothy opened with the thunderous “Down to the Bottom”,  immediately followed by “The Devil I Know”,  establishing a commanding presence that would define the evening. Guitarist Sam Bam Koltun emerged as the night’s standout performer, delivering smooth, rich guitar work that perfectly complemented Dorothy’s powerful vocals. In a memorable moment that harked back to classic rock showmanship, Koltun dropped to his knees mid-song, manipulating his pedals by hand while continuing to play, creating an electrifying sound that had the crowd mesmerized. The rhythm section of bassist Trev Lukather and drummer Jake Hayden provided the perfect foundation, driving each song with precision and power.

Dorothy’s performance of “Mud” and “Rest in Peace” showcased both her vocal prowess along with her beautiful tone and Koltun’s blistering solos, with the guitarist delivering one show-stopping moment after another. The band closed with “Tombstone Town”, a powerhouse track featuring Slash on Dorothy’s latest album, bringing the evening to a thunderous conclusion.

Both Dorothy and Eddie and the Getaway delivered an exceptional night of music that left the Worcester Palladium crowd thoroughly satisfied. These are artists with serious staying power, and anyone with the opportunity to catch either act live should consider themselves fortunate. This double bill represents the best of American rock and roll, with both bands demonstrating why they deserve spots on your must-see list.
