The murmurs of the excited fans bounced off the intimate venue walls, as they moved in closer to the stage, awaiting the arrival of Nothing More. A couple of the band members appeared on stage to sound check their instruments, a few fans cheered out, eager for the band to start their killer performance. Surely enough, the lights dimmed and it was time for Nothing More to blow Baltimore right off the map. Frontman, Jonny Hawkins, began to rapidly and rhythmically beat on the auxiliary drums, playing the intro for their first song, “Christ Copyright,” with the accompaniment of the fans singing along passionately. Next to be played on their set with “Mr. MTV,” “Sixty Second Affair,” followed by an amazing bass solo from bassist Dan Oliver.
Not a moment was wasted as they continued with their hit single, “This Is the Time (Ballast),” “First Punch,” “If I Were,” and “Friendly Fire.” They then slowed the set down briefly with the one of their heart wrenching songs, “I’ll Be Ok,” speeding the set back up with one of their older hits, “Salem.” They left the stage with the crowd chanting their name and begging for more. Nothing More came back on to the stage to finish their set with “Jenny” and “Sex and Lies.” To say the least, they ended their set with a big bang.
Overall, Nothing More did a beyond killer job and brought their A game! Be sure to check them out when they go on tour with Five Finger Death Punch this fall. They are an act you will regret missing!
