Alternative Rock/Electronic/Pop artists, PVRIS, brought their unique sound blend to House of Blues-Boston on Friday night.
Fronted by the Boston areas own Lynn Gunn on vocals and guitar, the band filled the venue. This three-piece group has a sound that covers far more musical ground than you would expect with this size group. With Danny Agosto Vega on Drums and Brian McDonald on Bass and keyboards, the trio produces a sound made up of complex rhythms with interesting melodies accompanied by well written lyrics.
The set was made up of a great mix of titles from their catalogue including Dead Weight, Mirrors, You and I, Nightmare and many others filling a good hour and a half with non-stop PVRIS vibe.
Lynn covered the entire stage, at times with some light jumping to fit the music as she traversed from one location to another. She knows how to include the audience, often walking up to the edge of the stage and getting down low to interact with the folks in the front row on one end and then the other. She also walked up to each of the two more stationary band members to interact with Danny on the drum kit from time to time and at others over to Brian on the keyboards since they are less able to wander while playing.
The crowd was absolutely engaged, entertained and looking for more from this group. Fantastic show!
