This past Wednesday night, the legendary Ringo Starr and his All-Starr Band took the stage at the Chevalier Theater in Medford, Massachusetts, delivering a powerhouse performance that left the audience roaring with delight. The lineup, featuring rock luminaries like Steve Lukather, Colin Hay, Warren Ham, Hamish Stuart, Gregg Bissonnette, and Buck Johnson, promised a night of classic hits and unforgettable collaborations. And they certainly delivered.
The concert kicked off with a high-energy medley of Beatles classics, immediately setting the tone for the evening. Ringo, ever the showman, kept the crowd engaged with his infectious enthusiasm and witty banter. But it was the All-Starr Band members who truly stole the show. Steve Lukather, known for his virtuosic guitar skills and soulful vocals, took center stage for a blistering rendition of “Rosanna,” his signature song with Toto. The audience was on their feet, captivated by Lukather’s incredible guitar work and powerful vocals.
Colin Hay, the frontman of Men at Work, brought his unique blend of folk-rock to the stage with a heartfelt performance of “Overkill.” Hay’s soulful voice and energetic stage presence resonated with the audience, creating a truly memorable moment. Hamish Stuart, another member of the All-Starr Band, showcased his versatility as a singer, guitarist, and bassist. His contributions to the band’s sound were invaluable, adding depth and complexity to the arrangements. Gregg Bissonette, a powerhouse drummer known for his work with various rock and pop bands, provided a solid foundation for the band’s music. Of course, no Ringo Starr concert would be complete without a selection of his solo hits. The crowd erupted in cheers as the band launched into “I Want to Be Your Man,” a classic Beatles song that Starr had recorded for his solo debut album. The audience sang along to every word, creating a sense of camaraderie and nostalgia.
Another highlight of the evening was Starr’s performance of “Photograph,” a timeless pop song that has become a staple of his live shows. The band’s tight harmonies and infectious groove made this a truly unforgettable moment.
The concert culminated in a rousing rendition of “With a Little Help from My Friends,” a Beatles classic that has become synonymous with Ringo Starr.
