Three Days Grace and Finger 11 played the Palladium last Friday to a packed house. I arrived around 8:00 for an 8:30 show to a line that wound around the block. Stressed me out a bit. Fortunately, the Palladium is used to handling this type of crowd and the wait to get inside was surprisingly short.
Finger 11 opened the show in support of their new album Five Crooked Lines, their first since 2010’s Life Turns Electric. Their setlist drew extensively from the new album covering 5 out of the 10 song set, including the popular Wolves and Doors. Of course they included a bunch of their past hits, closing with 2007’s Paralyzer, which I once played so often in the car that my kids rebeled and tried to make me change the track (sorry guys, my car).
Three Days Grace was next up, in support of their new album Human. With these guys, my daughter played one of the tracks off the new album (Painkiller) so often that the rest of the family rebeled. Hey, two is a quorum. Screw em.
They crowd got pretty rowdy during the Three Days Grace set, with a fair amount of moshing and crowd surfing. Make sure you check out the photo gallery.
The new album’s popularity is phenominal, with 4 tracks cracking the top ten on Spotify. All of these were in Friday’s setlist, including I Am Machine, Painkiller, Human Race, and Fallen Angel.
It’s a great night of music, with the tour continuing in Florida and Alabama before swinging through Canada in November. Check them out if you get a chance.
