Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones rumors surrounding a possible band reunion in 2014

Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones has commented on rumors surrounding a possible band reunion next year.“2014 is full of opera for me, at the moment,” said Jones at the after party for the London launch of the Philip Glass opera “The Perfect American.”Zeppelin reunion rumors for next year began when singer Robert Plant told Australia’s 60 Minutes in February that his schedule was clear for 2014, coyly hinting at the possibility of a reunion. Jones is currently writing an opera of his own, based on August Strindberg’s “The Ghost Sonata.”

“I’m halfway through the first act,” said the multi-instrumentalist, composer and arranger, adding that the biggest challenge is “the sheer scale of it, I think. I don’t know. I’m probably about to find out what the challenges are.”

Plant is playing shows this year with The Sensational Space Shifters, and Jimmy Page is working on remastering Zeppelin’s full catalog – with bonus tracks and other goodies – for release in 2013.
