Austin psych-rock band The Bright Light Social Hour have captivated audiences across North America this year with their energetic live sets, including SOLD OUT shows in many major cities, and supporting Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros on select Midwest shows this month. After playing a handful of festivals throughout the summer, the band will hit the road again this fall making stops in Boston, New York City, Chicago and more. The Bright Light Social Hour released their album Space Is Still the Place on March 10th, 2015 (Frenchkiss Records) to rave reviews.  The theme of the album encompasses the idea of a “Future South,” which was developed by the band after touring across the country, heavily in the South, over the last few years. PRESS HERE to watch the music video for lead single “Infinite Cities,” which was featured on NPR Heavy Rotation. After kicking off their Spring tour to 2,000+ hometown fans at Stubb’s in Austin, the band has been touring extensively through North America over this Spring, including SOLD OUT shows in New York City, Brooklyn, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Chicago, Boston and more.

Presale tickets with reduced fees are on sale now for most dates on the fall trek. Presale tickets can be purchased here. Tickets go on sale to the public Friday July 24 at 10am local time. Firekid will support for 10/21 – 10/25, and SWIMM will support the remainder of tour beginning on 10/27.

Praise for The Bright Light Social Hour:

continually exhilarating” – NPR

There’s just something in the Austin quartet’s stomp and tamborine jangle, echoed vocals and limber grooves that’s very transportive. “Dreamlove” revels in an immersive motorik groove, while “Aperture” utilizes reverb in such a way as to make you feel like you’re floating off to a galaxy far, far away.” – Vice Noisey

“Space Is Still the Place exemplifies their ability to remain cohesive while moving between various genres and styles.  This trait, displayed on the album from start to finish, is sure to shoot The Bright Light Social Hour to the top of festival lineups and add to their already infectious and irresistible live show.” Relix

Space Is Still the Place is a more complete work, a 45-minute Southern psychedelic rock odyssey.” – Austin American Statesman

“An early contender for Austin album of the year. 4 StarsAustin Chronicle

This band brings a live rawness that masterfully bleeds into their records. Its an unmatched je ne sais quoi that makes their sound relatable to the listener and devoid of condescension” – Life + Times

Austin is a perpetual hotbed for new and boundaries-pushing music, with psych-rock band The Bright Light Social Hour standing out as a forerunner in 2015.” – Yahoo! Music
