Great music and a great stage show. Evanescence provided both at Xfinity Center in Mansfield, MA Sunday night. Amy Lee and the rest of the members of Evanescence were absolutely fantastic as they performed music from the new album, Sanctuary, including Bring Me To Life and others across their 20+ years together. A stage with three rising platforms for the drum kit, and two for any of the other members at the rear of the stage and one that lowered into the front of the stage that presented Amy’s baby grand piano when needed.

This tour they are performing a song that they never perform live! Any guesses? Hint it is from their second release, The Open Door.

Amy performed one song on the piano, sharing a difficult time in her life and providing inspiration to others that there is a light at the end of that tunnel.

Amy’s voice and piano skills are joined by Will Hunt’s unending energy on the drum kit. The man is all over that double bass kit but still allows for that needed space when it is called for. His driving beats are a key component of Evanescence’s sound. Emma Anzai’s work on the bass is incredible as are her background vocals. Troy McLawhorn has a great presence on stage during his guitar solos and just in general. Rounding out the group is Tim McCord also on guitar who has made a perfect transition from bass to guitar adding more depth to that sound.

The show spans the full spectrum of Evanescence’s sound, from crushing gothic metal and hard rock—complete with towering flames and confetti cannons—to intimate, piano-driven ballads. During those quieter moments, Amy commands the stage alone at the piano while Emma’s delicate backing vocals accompany her from behind a white curtain, creating a striking visual that isolates the pair from the rest of the band. While those moments provide a welcome emotional contrast, the set leans heavily toward the band’s signature powerful sound.

From start to finish, the performance never loses momentum. It’s a relentless display of energy, elevated by the exceptional musicianship that has made Evanescence one of rock’s most enduring and respected bands.
