Iconic rock outfit Staind is back in the limelight with a brand new single, “Cycle of Hurting,” and a forthcoming album titled “Confessions of the Fallen.” This marks their first new studio album since 2011, an eagerly anticipated return for fans worldwide.
The new single is now available on all music platforms and accompanies an animated music video, giving a taste of what to expect from the album slated for release on September 15, 2023, through Alchemy Recordings/BMG.
“Confessions of the Fallen” sees Staind, known for their hard-hitting lyrics and dynamic soundscapes, explore a variety of sonic niches. Tracks like “Lowest In Me,” the album’s debut single, currently top 5 on the active rock chart, and “Hate Me Too” bear the hallmark of Staind’s fury, while “Out of Time” and “In This Condition” feature sweeping arrangements and dynamic shifts.
Lyrically, lead vocalist Aaron Lewis draws from the dark, reflective places that have consistently informed Staind’s music. As he candidly admitted, “I’m still working through my issues. Still working through my problems, and until then I’ll dream of better days. I hope that’s how everybody feels right now…better days are yet to come.”
Adding to the excitement, Staind also announces a co-headlining tour with fellow rock band Godsmack. The tour will commence on July 18 in St. Louis, MO, treating fans to a blend of new songs and classic hits.
The band, comprising lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Aaron Lewis, lead guitarist Mike Mushok, bassist and backing vocalist Johnny April, and drummer Sal Giancarelli, formed in 1995 in Springfield, Massachusetts. Over the years, Staind has sold over 15 million albums globally, with eight Top 10 singles to their credit. Their 2001 album, “Break The Cycle,” reached 5x platinum status and featured the timeless hit “It’s Been Awhile.”
