Brit Floyd, billed as “The World’s Greatest Pink Floyd Show”, played the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, NH last week as part of their 2016 Space and Time Continuum World Tour. Yours truly was in attendance to watch the magic unfold.
Brit Floyd tours internationally and they have a huge following. While I’d never seen them live before, I knew I was in for an awesome experience as their reputation certainly precedes them. I expected world class musicians—they’d have to be– and I got them. I expected a phenomenal light show—what Pink Floyd experience would be complete without one?– and I got that too. What I wondered about was how they’d deliver the experience. Pink Floyd has a long history of music and their fan base spans decades of musical history. Pink Floyd has 15 studio albums, 3 live albums, 8 compilation albums and a multitude of video, box sets and singles to choose from, how exactly would they put this together to please the masses? Brilliantly, that’s how. It was a virtual stroll down Pink Floyd memory lane. With the assistance of a magically illuminated circular jumbotron Brit Floyd navigated the eager crowd through Pink Floyd history via carefully selected tunes from most if not every single album. We enjoyed songs like Signs of Life, Learning to Fly and Another Brick in the Wall just to name a few. It was a visual and auditory feast and completely relaxing all at once.
Brit Floyd tours a lot and they play a couple of different venues in New England. They are a must see! Catch a show if you can!
