Supermachine at the RISE ABOVE Fest 2012

From Dover, NH, Supermachine featured thunder chords from Jay Fortin, and heavy bass lines rumbled out by Paul Jarvis. This band is creative in their song writing. Double stops in their timing, ranked Supermachine high in the innovation category, as their second song, Josey Wales, rolled out.

Stone Bullet at the RISE ABOVE Fest 2012

Stone Bullet came out with lean, mean screaming guitar solos, and low running bass lines, with Black Sabbath worthy rhythms. Rockin out in threesomes, as the unstoppable drummer, Seth Roya, held the thunder cage, every time David Wayne yelled, “TJ!” we learned quickly that there would be a massive guitar solo from guitarist T.J. Powers. They introduced a new song, “Get So High,” which pulled the crowd in, as the mosh pit was slowly filling up.

Rock Star Energy Drink UPROAR 2012 – Comcast Center, MA

I attended the 2012 incarnation of the Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival. The festival rolled through my backyard of Mansfield, MA . This festival goes across the United States every August-October and promotes some of the biggest names in active rock and metal.

ROB ZOMBIE: Mondo Sex Head

All in all, this album was a great remix for me. My favorites are more on the heavy side, but the “Living Dead Girl” remix (Living Dead Girl is my favorite Zombie song and one of my favorites on this album) isn’t very bass heavy and has a real House effect to it. I really like the Jungle vibe on the “Superbeast” remix and the remix of Dragula was simply well done.

SLASH feat. Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators

Monday night was alright for headbangin’ in Atlantic Canada’s mecca for metal (Moncton, NB) with the return of Slash to the hub city roughly 25 years after his former band Guns ‘N’ Roses opened there for The Cult in 1987. Returning as an established solo artist, Slash and his band “The Conspirators” (featuring Myles Kennedy of Alter Bridge on vocals and Canadian Todd Kerns on bass) filled CasinoNB to capacity and the crowd never stopped rockin’ for 3 straight hours.

SLASH at the House of Blues, Boston.

Slash, considered one of the best guitarists of all time, played to the sold-out crowd, who responded enthusiastically all night. They were there to see a Hall of Fame guitarist showing his guitar mastery at the House of Blues with a mix of songs from Velvet Revolver, Guns ‘N Roses, Slash’s Snakepit and tracks from his new self-titled solo release.

The Offspring Rocked the Casino Ballroom, 2012

This was an energy filled show – bodies were crushed against the front of the stage during “Bad Habit.” Perhaps one of the crowds’ favorites was the cowbell intro of “Pretty Fly (For A White Guy)” which, once again, kept the moshers and surfers very busy!

Shinedown 2012

Songs on the Sound of Madness album are unlike any songs on their previous albums. They candidly express Smith’s and the band’s true feelings and thoughts in an artistic way, making a memorable statement to the world. This is what Shinedown is about.

Collective Soul at Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom, 2012

Venue Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom Photos by Micah Gummel. Atlantic recording artists, Collective Soul, released the Dosage album in 1999. The fourth studio record from this band peaked at the 21st spot on the Billboard charts. Nine years later, “Tremble for My Beloved” was used for the memorable superhero vampire rescue scene in the film, “Twilight,” […]

KoRn, Path of Totality Tour 2012

With a mix of Dubstep tracks laid down over the night and in the current album, it’s evident that KoRn, as a band, has never been afraid to try new things. If you try to change the style too much and take a risk, you might lose fans, but there’s nothing wrong with being creative and expanding what you’re doing. This has been KoRn’s mantra, and fans still agree, as evident of the numerous sold out shows on The Path of Totality tour.

Lindsey Buckingham, The Seeds We Sow, 2012

“The big machine vs. small machine … the same force that makes the world go around … it all comes down to the collection of choices we make …” ~LIndsey Buckingham, Calvin Theatre, Northampton, June 2, 2012.
