Hudson Taylor played The Orpheum in Boston last week. The Irish folk/Americana group is made up of singer/songwriter brothers Harry and Alfie Hudson-Taylor, one on acoustic guitar and Bodhran (Irish Frame Drum) and the other on electric guitar, along with additional musicians on fiddle and keyboard for the tour. They performed a solid set for a very appreciative crowd. The group started its career in Dublin so it is not a surprise that they have a following in the Boston area. The set included their more popular songs such as Butterflies and Old Soul. The band has a modern sound but includes enough traditional instrumentation, Bodhran, and Tin Whistle, to provide a unique element over other groups.
It was a good concert. If you get an opportunity to hear them go for it.
