The Ole 60 and Southall show on February 21, 2026, at Roadrunner in Boston was a sold-out night of raw country-rock energy that filled the Brighton venue with fans of authentic Americana and red-dirt sound.
Part of Ole 60’s Smokestack Town Tour in support of their debut album, the Kentucky band headlined with Texas’s Southall opening, creating a potent double-bill. The evening delivered strong Southern storytelling, solid rhythms that shook the floor, and plenty of emotional weight, connecting deeply with the attentive audience.
Southall started with a tight, confident set blending their outlaw country roots with a modern edge, effortlessly shifting from brooding ballads into arena-ready choruses. They warmed the room well and successfully built anticipation and momentum for the headliner.
Ole 60 hit the stage around 9pm with a focused yet loose set heavy on Smokestack Town material. They opened with “Rose”, a haunting melody and gritty lyrics, hooking the crowd right away with their authentic sound. Fan favorites followed, along with a cover of Alice in Chain’s “Nutshell”, that brought a touch of swampy twang to an alt-rock classic. The set included deep cuts, several energetic tracks that got the crowd moving, and closed powerfully with “Smoke & a Light”, a signature fan-favorite.
The band sounded locked in. Harmonies tight, rhythm section pounding, vocals raw and full of feeling. No polished pop-country nonsense here. Just real songs with heart, drawing from old-school country and rock without sounding forced. Roadrunner’s sound system did them justice too. The quiet parts cut through clean, and when they built up, it shook the floor. The crowd was all in, singing every word, dancing, feeding off the energy the whole time.
Southall slotted in perfectly as support, and together they made the night feel cohesive and legit. Ole 60’s clearly got something special going. Rising fast for a reason. If you’re into honest, no-BS Americana/red-dirt country-rock, nights like this are why you show up. Raw, loud, and satisfying as hell. Boston got treated.
