Kicking off the night from Las Vegas, Nevada, brother to brother, the band Otherwise led by frontman Adrian Patrick hit the stage with a purpose, wasting little time in jolting into their relentless opener “Die For You.” The short, but effective 30 minute set played as a showcase of tunes from their breakout debut album, “True Love Never Dies.” Intensity was the word of the evening as the band paced around the stage, periodically pointing at fans in the crowd. Songs like “Lighthouse” and “Vegas Girl” demonstrated what the band does best- creating traditional hard rock music in the truest form and backing it up with catchy rhythmic lyrics with ruthless rock riffs that give a sense of what’s been missing from the rock scene. The band finished off the night with the song that effectively launched the band “Soldiers,” livened up fans scurrying into the venue to see the headliners of the night.

How do you describe a Papa Roach live show, two words come to mind Electrifying and Energizing. On this night at the Sands Casino Papa Roach had the entire crowd singing along to every single song they played it as if they had their own choir. The band burst onto the stage with Kick in the Teeth, from album, Time for Annihilation. The high-impact song had the right effect on the crowd, sending them into a music-induced frenzy. Next, Lifeline and Blood Brothers merely fueled the fire that had already been lit. From early on, it was obvious that the band, frontman Jacoby Shaddix in particular, was impressed with the crowd.
Jacoby is one of best front men to date and will always be one of my favorites to this day. Their new song Burn is one of favorite tunes they just released. I simply cannot say enough about their presence and the energy they project on and off stage. The crowd didn’t stop moving once! They played a mix of old and new it was hit after hit. The was crowd was held captive. Papa Roach has released some quality albums, but nothing compares to their live show. Jacoby is one heck of a frontman who acknowledges, engages, and feeds off of the crowd. Jerry, Tobin, and Tony also grab your attention, and the combination of their talents makes for quite the experience.
What surprised me most were the surprised, at times humbled, looks that the audience received from the band when they went full force, or sang at the top of their lungs. It was a show to remember. At one point, Jacoby said, “I feel the heart and soul from you tonight, guys.” The feeling was mutual. What a great opportunity to have covered this show

Stone Sour blew the roof off the Sands casino in PA tonight hitting the crowd with a solid one-two punch of “Gone Sovereign” and “Absolute Zero,” the first two singles from “House,” to reaffirm the album’s strength. Taylor always performs with authority and tonight was no different. Looking sharp in a grey vest and slacks, complete with black converse sneakers, he looked the part as well. Guitarists Jim Root and Josh Rand traded tightly manicured riffs, the staple component of Stone Sour’s sound. Cory Taylor is so unforgettable his vocals blew me away the crowd was so taken back and moved by his performance. For those of you who don’t know who he is you should really try to learn more about him he’s a very in depth deep soul his words are impacting and depth full if you listen you will here truth in his music. This was my first time seeing Corey Taylor his song digital is one of those songs that speaks the truths love this band in fact there isn’t a song I don’t like by this band. This is a show I will never forget the energy on stage was mind blowing. Taylor continued into the opening verse of “Through Glass” before being joined by the band at the chorus. The buildup was a dramatic effect to demonstrate its power. They closed out their set with “The Travelers, Part 2,” “Last of the Real” and “30/30-150.”
Given the strength of “House of Gold and Bones – Part 1” and subsequent tour, it’s not hard to feel eager about “Part 2” this coming spring. No surprise considering everything Corey Taylor touches turns to gold.
