The Xfinity Center in Mansfield, Massachusetts, was packed and rocking as Styx opened for Chicago, delivering a night filled with classic hits that have been loved by generations.
From the moment Styx took the stage, it was clear that the crowd was ready to travel back through decades of unforgettable music. The band sounded as tight and powerful as ever, proving that Styx hasn’t slowed down—and judging by the performance, they have no plans to anytime soon. Their set was packed with familiar favorites, with fans singing along to nearly every word and dancing throughout the night.
Styx is currently in the middle of its massive 2026 summer “The Windy Cities Tour – All The Hits…Your Kind of Tour” with Chicago. The tour kicked off July 13 in West Palm Beach, Florida, and will wrap up September 6 in Los Angeles, California, before Styx continues with its own headlining shows throughout the remainder of the year. Seeing the band live makes it easy to understand why they continue to draw such enthusiastic crowds.
Then came Chicago, bringing its own legendary catalog of music to the Mansfield stage. The band continues to deliver the songs that have made them a staple of classic rock and pop for decades, and the addition of new vocalist Rudy Cardenas brings another dimension to the group’s current lineup. Cardenas stepped into the role with confidence, helping carry Chicago’s unmistakable sound to a crowd that clearly came ready to sing.
And sing they did.
The atmosphere throughout the night was electric. Fans of all ages were on their feet, dancing, clapping, and joining the bands on some of the biggest songs of their lives. There was a genuine sense of celebration in the air—a reminder of just how powerful great music can be when experienced live.
