It was certainly a night to remember on Long Island In Patchouge NY at The Emporium. Queensryche played to a packed house. The band opened with Queen of the Ryche and played some of their earlier tunes such as Warning, Walk in the Shadows and Prophecy the fans exploded with delight! I thought it was pretty awesome that Todd La Torre Queensryche’s new vocalist took a fans camera and started snapping photos of the crowd, which they loved! Scott La Torre the new frontman an Parker Lundgren the new guitarist really brought home for me I wasn’t really sure how I would feel about the new line up because I personally know all the original members as I’m sure many of the fans were feeling the same way but after seeing the show I have to say I was very impressed and so were the fans which is what’s the most important. Todd La Torre was very attentive to the fans shaking hands and giving a stellar performance, as did the entire band. I’m not in to music politics but I will say a band is very much like a marriage or a relationship and just like a marriage people grow a part and need a change. This was a great show and if you get the chance go you will not be disappointed!
Quick quote form one fan after the show: ” Usually when a band loses their singer, especially one of Geoff’s stature you would think that it would be the end, not in the case. I have seen the band periodically over the years and found this lineup to be the strongest . Todd has an amazing likeness to Geoff vocally but has a freshness and power that this band needed. Nice to see that the band enjoyed playing tonight it was quit evident that they are back on a roll. Keep rocking guys.”
