These are some of the last times we can hope to catch Billy at a small, reasonably priced venue. Over this last tour his popularity has been growing incredibly, but for good reason. Billy Strings is the real deal, a bluegrass picker who can channel the Dead and also cover Hendrix.

His two shows at The Sinclair in Boston reflected his deep influences from Jam Bands, Rock and Roll, and his country roots. Lexington, MA native Mattie and Debbie (guitarist Stash Wyslouch and drummer Sean Trischka) opened both shows with their Heavy Metal bluegrass, which matched nicely with Billy’s style. They joined him both nights for a number of songs, along with Anh Phung on the flute in true country fashion.

Billy covered songs by the Grateful Dead, Phish, String Cheese, and Jimmy Hendrix, while entraining the 500+ person crowd with a number of his classics. Dueling back and forth with Stash, it will be some time ’til we see faster fingers again here at The Sinclair.

Billy played most of both nights on his classic Thompson acoustic, but both nights also brought out his Gibson SG to tear into some hard rock covers. Billy Strings is a true bluegrass musician who can jam and rock with the best of them. Get your tickets for he 2020 tour now before they all sell out!
