Last Friday night, L.A. rockers Buckcherry rolled into Hampton Beach for the last set of their tour promoting their most recent – and arguably, most ambitious – record, Confessions.  In true Buckcherry fashion, Josh Todd and Company delivered a monster set that let fans new and old feast on favorites such as Lit Up and Crazy Bitch, along with tracks from Confessions.  The album, which debuted at #20 on the Billboard Top 200, is nearly as addictive as Buckcherry’s song subjects.  For a taste, check out Gluttony:

Todd is a wild, energetic and passionate front man, able to convey emotions with seemingly boundless intensity.  And the band complements him perfectly, delivering with swagger some of the best hard rock written since the 90’s.  Keith Nelson and Stevie D. are a fabulous guitar duo, trading off lead and rhythm throughout the set.  If you’re a fan of classic rock, blues, or metal – a Buckcherry show has something for you.  And indeed, perhaps due to Buckcherry’s influences and body of work, the crowd seemed more diverse than I typically see at a rock show.
Guitarist Keith Nelson was kind enough to catch up with us before the show.  In the brief interview below, he shares a bit about the creative process behind Confessions, tour plans, and even his favorite TV show:
