Energized and engaging best describes Mammoth at the House of Blues in Boston. On tour in support of the new album, The End, Mammoth came through Boston this week.

Opener, Return to Dust, warmed up the crowd for a full night of Rock/Hard Rock. The incredible Myles Kennedy, who had his fair share of fans in attendance, filled the middle slot performing a set featuring music from The Art of Letting Go.

These sets built up to the headliner, Mammoth lead by WVH himself who opened with One of a Kind then rolled right into Another Celebration. A background screen showed incredible art work that aligned well with the music through the set with one exception, when family photos and video clips from Wolf’s childhood through his time touring with Van Halen were shown during his performance of Distance.

Wolf spoke directly to the audience on several occasions, even engaging those in the top levels of the venue. One fan presented him with a Bruins jersey with WOLF in the name slot which he really seemed excited about.

The performance was great and engagement with the audience was higher than with many bands on tour. The final song of the set was The End from the new release. Still showing his musicianship, the new music is not repetitive of the last album but offers something new. Check out The End and catch them on this tour.
