O.A.R. (Of a revolution) a Rock band out of Maryland has a very unique style who have their roots in the indie music scene. Their inclusion of keyboards/additional percussion added a nice twist to what one would normally see during a modern rock show. Though the most unique element was Jerry DePizzo on Saxophone. He defiantly stuck out throughout the show and even switched over to rhythm guitar for a couple songs.
The band was very well balanced. Lead singer/rhythm guitarist Mark Roberge rocked the lyrics and flawlessly switched between his eclectic and acoustic guitar throughout the show. Lead Guitarist Richard On captivated the crowd with his awesome stage presence. Drummer Chris Culos kept the band on a steady tempo through the show and was assisted on percussion by full time touring member Mikel Paris who also plays the keyboards. Last but certainly not least Bassist Benj Gershman laid down some great bass lines and rifts.
O.A.R. put on a spectacular show that entertained fans of all ages right from the beginning. They kept the crowd cheering and dancing in the pit throughout their entire set. They played a mix of new and old songs including “Black Rock” and “That Was a Crazy Game of Poker” which are both staples of their live shows. I would definitely recommend seeing them and hope to see them again myself next time they are in the area.
