The Independent Powerhouse Tour made a stop at Reverb in Reading, PA on April 15, and the artists including rap sensation Tech N9ne performed a stellar sold out show. The artists on this tour, signed onto Tech N9ne’s label Strange Music included Ces Cru, Stevie Stone, Mayday!, Rittz and accompanying Tech on the stage was Krizz Kaliko.
As the night wore on, the air in the venue became thick with various scented vapes and was packed to the brim as fans prepared themselves for Tech N9ne’s arrival. Some donned his trademark facial paint and his baggy red outfit. It wasn’t before long till the venue was enveloped in darkness with the exception of the red stage lights. The intro songs took over the speakers, “Lacrimosa” and “Strangeulation, Vol. II Cypher I” then Tech made his appearance from behind the stage’s curtain, his face painted white with skull like patterns and an anarchy symbol on top of his head. He unleashed his incredible energy upon the crowd while performing “Hard (A Monster Made It)” then he briefly exited the stage to let Krizz Kaliko take over for the next song, “Way Out.” Then the accompaniment between the rappers began and brought the night to a whole new level.
Fans pressed their bodies against the barricade, throwing their arms in the air as they mouthed along to the perfectly constructed set of 27 songs including “Riot Maker,” “Einstein,” “Who Do I Catch,” “Blackboy,” “Trapped in a Psycho’s Body,” and the first verses of “Psycho Bitch/Psycho Bitch II/ Psycho Bitch III.” Smoke from the vapers continued to bounce to the top of the venue and wash over the crowd, creating the perfect atmosphere for Tech N9ne’s sick show. But Tech and Krizz didn’t stop there, they kept the night going with “Straight Out the Gate,” “MMM (Michael Myers Mask),” “You Don’t Want It,” opener Stevie Stone joined the stage with Krizz for the song “Be Ok,” and Tech returned to the stage for “World Wide Chopper,” “I Need a Drink,” and crowd favorite, “Caribou Lou.” Tech and Krizz ended the night on a killer note with “Hood Go Crazy,” “Dysfunctional,” and “Stamina.” Both Tech and Krizz exited the stage, leaving the crowd begging for more.
Overall, this was one hell of a show and all acts, especially Tech N9ne, brought their game. Be sure to check out the Independent Powerhouse Tour dates, this is a show you do not want to miss.
