Cage the Elephant Announce New Album and North American Tour

Cage The Elephant, the acclaimed rock band with a GRAMMY® Award under their belt, is making a grand return to the music scene with their much-anticipated sixth studio album, “Neon Pill,” set to release on May 17 under RCA Records. Alongside this announcement, the band has also revealed plans for a 45-date North American summer tour, promising to bring their electrifying performances to fans across the continent.

“Neon Pill” represents a significant milestone for the Kentucky-born group, consisting of the Shultz brothers, Matthew (vocals) and Brad (guitar), alongside Daniel Tichenor (bass), Jared Champion (drums), Nick Bockrath (lead guitar), and Matthan Minster (guitar, keys, backing vocals).

Matthew Shultz reflects on the album’s creation process, noting, “Neon Pill is the first record where we were consistently uninfluenced, and I mean that in a positive way.” He adds that the album is a testament to the band’s journey towards finding their own voice, fueled by personal experiences and growth.

The North American tour, produced by Live Nation, will start on June 20 in Salt Lake City and stops in New England starting mid April and continuing through September 5th. Young The Giant & Bakar will support the band on most dates, promising a lineup that’s as diverse as it is exciting. Tickets and VIP packages will be available to the general public starting Friday, March 8th, with a variety of presales beginning on Tuesday, March 5th.

Cage The Elephant’s journey from their beginnings in Bowling Green, Kentucky, to becoming one of this generation’s leading rock bands is nothing short of remarkable. With multiple Gold, Platinum, and Multiplatinum certifications, over 5 billion streams, and a string of #1 records on both Alternative and Triple A Radio, their success is well-documented. Their live shows, known for their unbridled energy and emotional depth, have become the stuff of legend, a fact that “Neon Pill” seeks to encapsulate.

The album, produced by John Hill, came to life amidst personal tragedies and challenges, including the loss of the Shultz brothers’ father and Matthew’s own battles with depression. Yet, it is these trials that have imbued “Neon Pill” with its raw emotional power, particularly evident in the new song “Out Loud,” a poignant homage to their late father and a reflection of Matthew’s personal struggles.

As Cage The Elephant prepares to share “Neon Pill” with the world and embark on their expansive tour, fans can look forward to experiencing the band’s evolution firsthand, both through the album’s tracks and their renowned live performances.
