Celtic punk legends announce five-show Boston run for March 2026; physical release of ‘For The People’ arrives Friday
Boston’s own Dropkick Murphys will ring in their 30th anniversary with a five-show run on St. Patrick’s Day weekend in March 2026, the band announced this week.
The hometown residency, part of the group’s “For The People…In The Pit Tour,” includes performances on March 13, 14, and 16 at MGM Music Hall at Fenway, plus a St. Patrick’s Day finale on March 17 at Citizens House of Blues. A special family-friendly concert and meet & greet on March 14 at 2:00 PM will benefit The Claddagh Fund, the band’s charitable foundation, with adult ticket buyers able to bring two children under 13 free of charge.
Tickets go on sale Friday, October 10 at 10:00 AM ET through the band’s website. Support acts for the Boston shows will be announced at a later date, along with additional tour dates.
The announcement comes as the seven-piece band prepares to release physical editions of their latest album, “For The People,” on Friday. The CD and vinyl versions include five bonus tracks not available on the album’s July 4 digital release. The band kicks off a European headlining tour Tuesday in Milan, Italy, with Frank Turner and Haywire.
Since forming in 1996, Dropkick Murphys have evolved from Kenmore Square dive bar regulars to internationally recognized artists with four consecutive Billboard top 10 album debuts and over half a billion streams. Their 2005 single “I’m Shipping Up To Boston,” featured in Martin Scorsese’s “The Departed,” achieved double platinum status.
The Claddagh Fund has raised over $20 million for organizations supporting children, veterans, and addiction recovery. During their current tour supporting “For The People,” band members have continued their nearly three-decade advocacy for workers’ rights by making surprise appearances at union picket lines across the country.
