Starting the evening off was Santa Cruz. They opened their set with “Bonafide Heroes″, which is the opening track on their recent release.  The singles from that cd My remedy, We are the ones to fall and Wasted & wounded have been causing a buzz on the internet over the past couple weeks. Six of the seven songs on their set list was from their current release. They closed their set with “Aiming High” from their cd “Screaming for Adrenaline”. I was totally impressed with Santa Cruz’s performance. The energy was through the roof. You can tell these guys have a great time on stage. I will definitely be seeing them again when they return in the future.

I Prevail is a post-hardcore band from Michigan formed in 2013. The band has become a viral sensation with their cover of Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space”. Their self-released EP Heart Vs. Mind hit #1 on the ITunes Rock Chart in December 2014. After hearing their version of “Blank Space”, I knew that their set was going to be off the wall.

Amaranthe is a Swedish metal band hailing from Gothenburg, Sweden. Their musical style covers multiple Genre’s from metalcore to death metal to melodic pop metal. This is one well rounded band. Olof, Morten and Johan are masters of their instruments and this band has three vocalists. Elize Ryd is the female clean vocals, Jake E is the male clean vocals and filling in for Henrik Englunds male unclean vocals is Olle Ekman from the band Deal’s Death. Henrik had to sit out this tour because he will become a father within the next month.

At 9PM Amaranthe hit the stage, opening with their song “Digital World” from their newest release “Massive Addictive”. Their set list consisted 15 songs from all three albums mixed up nicely. In addition to those 15 songs, they also had 4 encore songs. Even though it was a big set list, they were full energy from the first note to the last note. The clarity in the vocals were amazing. Olle fit right in like he was a permanent fixture in the band. Despite a few technical issues, Amaranthe played one hell of a show. I cannot wait for them to come around again.
